Roland Bourie Williams, 75, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Dawn Lowrance Williams, died Thursday morning, September 30, 2021, at his home with his devoted wife at his side.
Born in Macon, Georgia on December 25, 1945 to Francis E. Williams Jr. and Elizabeth Anderson Williams.
Predeceased by both parents and his brother Francis E. Williams III (Fran).
He graduated from Stratford Academy, then Emory University and received a Master's in English from The University of Cincinnati. He then spent the next four years in the Air Force and became a Captain.
He graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia Law School where he was a member of The Order of the Coif. He married and moved to Savannah and was a law clerk for U.S District Judge A.A. Lawrence and finally joined Hunter Maclean Exley & Dunn, becoming a partner there.
He was a member of St. John's Church in Savannah where he was senior warden twice. He was appointed Chancellor of The Diocese of Georgia by the Rt. Rev. Harry W. Shipps and held that position for 13 years.
Roland also served on the Executive committee of the Savannah Symphony Society and the Executive committee of the Savannah Bar Association.

There will be a small family service on Saturday, October 2, 2021.
