ATLANTA, GEORGIA - Robyn Srochi Estroff, 72, of Atlanta, Georgia, wife of Norman Leslie Estroff, died Wednesday morning, June 9, 2010, at Atlanta Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Sarah Srochi, and her brother, Alan B. Srochi. Her father was one of the founding brothers of the Atlanta Baking Company, which later introduced Sunbeam Bread to Georgia. After marrying her beloved, Norman, they lived in Savannah, Ga. And later moved to Orlando, Fl. Robyn was one of the founding women of ORT, Organization for Rehabilitation through Training Chapter in Orlando. Robyn was a member of the Temple Israel Sisterhood in Orlando and the Ahavath Achim Sisterhood in Atlanta.
Robyn attended the University of Michigan and Emory University. She was the national sweetheart of the AEPi fraternity and the Alpha Omega Dental fraternity. After marriage, along with her husband and following the retirement of Norman's parents, Norman and Robyn purchased the beauty supply business which his parents had started. They continued to grow the business from one store to fifteen stores located throughout Florida. The business was later purchased by Sally Beauty Company.
She leaves behind her adoring husband, Norman, her children Sara and husband, Dr. Mark Cohen, and her son Armand, all of Atlanta, and four grandchildren, Elyssa and Jacob Cohen, and Eric and Ashley Estroff. Besides being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Robyn loved being in business with her husband. In addition Robyn leaves behind her sister in law, Sarabel Estroff Stemer and her husband, Ross Stemer, a brother in law, Abram Estroff and his wife Linda, a sister in law, Rebecca Srochi Nirenblatt of Charleston, two nieces, five nephews, and numerous cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Friday at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus. Shiva will be held beginning Sunday evening, June 13th at 7 o'clock, at the residence, 2500 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30305.
