Robert Francis Jordan, 67, of Savannah, Georgia, died Saturday afternoon, January 18, 2014, at Hospice Savannah after a brave fight against cancer and surrounded by everyone who loved him.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Ira Morgan Jordan and the late Veronica Marcella Vitkus Jordan. Robert was of the Catholic faith. He was a United States Navy veteran having served two tours of duty aboard the USS Manley. Robert was a very proud Gamecock who graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1971. He was a retired commercial construction manager. Robert enjoyed Gamecock football, was an established golfer, and enjoyed fixing computers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Veronica Glynn Jordan, and a brother, James Ira Jordan.
Surviving are his daughter, Valerie Jordan Branham and her husband, Joshua Nick Branham, of Savannah; two grandchildren, Oliver Hugo Nick Branham and Caroline Cooper Branham; two sisters, Linda Jordan Key and her husband, Stewart Hampton Key, Jr. of Savannah, and Lucille Jordan Bone and her husband, Gary Bone, of Andrews, South Carolina; three nieces, Cynthia Key Podres and her husband, William, Stephanie Bone Altman and her husband, Steven, and Leslie Bone Taylor and her husband, Carl, and two nephews, Gary Bone, Jr. and his wife, Marie, and Stewart 'Trey' Hampton Key III and his wife, Laurie.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Dewain E. Smith. Private interment will be in Andrews Cemetery in Andrews, South Carolina.
