ROBERT 'BOB' G. BIERCE
1943-2018
Retired Savannah Fire Department Captain Robert 'Bob' Geoffrey Bierce, age 74, died suddenly September 5, 2018.
He is survived by two daughters, three grandsons, one sister, two brothers, and a slew of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers and three 'fixer-upper' boats that stranded him on the rivers of Savannah on many occasions.
He loved his family, fishing, and Fox News. While serving with the Savannah Fire Department, he saved many lives. He was commended for his bravery, for outstanding performance, and for cooking the finest spaghetti dinners at Firehouse 5.
Bob Bierce never met a stranger he did not like. Recently, he picked up a homeless man he met at a gas station and drove him across the state to the man\'s girlfriend in a run-down motel room.
Bob will be forever remembered as an optimistic man with a generous heart, a warm smile, and undying devotion to the Atlanta Braves.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, October 21, 2018, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
A memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, October 21, 2018, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. His cremated remains will be spread in the river he most loved.
