Richard 'Ricky' Dewayne Taylor, 61, of Savannah and husband of Desiree Peloquin Taylor, died Saturday evening, January 2, 2021, at his home.
Born in Alma, Georgia, he was a son of the late Benny Rudolph Taylor and the late Montine Stewart Taylor. Ricky moved to Savannah when he was three months old and lived there the rest of his life. He attended Central Christian Church. Desiree and Ricky were together 44 years and were married for 39 years. He was a maintenance supervisor for the Chemical Division of Kraton. Ricky was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for more than 50 years as a scout and later a scoutmaster, and was proud to watch and help his three sons become Eagle Scouts. He was a member of Thunderbolt Lodge #693 F&AM, the Alee Shrine Temple where he was a member of the Pirates Unit, the York Rite, Scottish Rite, and Knights of Templar.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Desiree Peloquin Taylor; three sons, Justin Taylor and his wife, Christa, Christopher Taylor, and Wesley Taylor and his wife, Amy; one grandson, Tyde Starling; one brother, B. Randall 'Randy' Taylor, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Wednesday evening, January 6, 2021, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, January 7, 2021, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Lionel Marmolejo. Interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
