Richard ???Buddy??? Prouse

Richard Eugene 'Buddy' Prouse, 85, of Savannah, Georgia, died Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, South Carolina.



Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Douglas James 'Jim' Prouse, Sr. and the late Annie King Prouse. Richard was a United States Navy veteran. He was a retired firefighter with Savannah Fire Department. Richard lived at Tybee many years and truly loved the island and its unique atmosphere.



In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.



Surviving are his sister, Blanche Prouse Meyers, and nieces and nephews, including Jennifer Prouse, with whom he lived for the last several months.



The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon, December 11, 2020, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue conducted by the Reverend James W. Giddens. Private interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
