Rene Raymond Lanier, Jr., 62, of Savannah, Georgia, died Monday evening, February 1, 2016, at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Savannah Georgia, he was a son of Diane Daniels Lanier Conner and the late Rene Raymond Lanier, Sr. In his younger years, he was an avid tennis player, a lifeguard at Tybee Beach, and a surfer.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Michael David Lanier; a brother-in-law, Richard Knight; and a nephew, Brian Knight.
Surviving are his mother, Diane Daniels Lanier Conner of Savannah; three sisters, Cheri Knight, Carol Lanier Combs, JoAnne Lanier, all of Savannah, and several nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7 o'clock Thursday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 7 o'clock Thursday evening in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service, conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney. Interment will be private.
The family wishes to give special thanks to caregivers, Marie Barnes and Fred Jones.
