Randall 'Randy' Allen Shaffer, 55, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Marsha Patricia Harley Shaffer, died Tuesday afternoon, November 6, 2018, at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital with his family at his side.
Born in Rome, New York, he was a son of the late Richard Clayton Shaffer and the late Betsy Ann Skeels Shaffer. Randy was of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Army veteran. Randy owned and operated his local and long distance trucking company. He loved spending time with his family, watching Buffalo Bills football, and playing golf.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Clayton Edward Shaffer.
Surviving are his wife, Marsha Patricia Harley Shaffer; four children, Ashley Shaffer, Jamie Gonzalez and her husband, Joseph, Brittany Wilkinson and her husband, Jeremy, and Randall 'Randy' A. Shaffer, Jr.; ten grandchildren; one sister, Lucinda Lee Carter and her husband, David; three brothers, Richard Lynn Shaffer, Sr. and his wife, Janet, Rodney Sullivan Shaffer and his wife, Anna, and Raymond Shaffer and his wife, Debra, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Joseph M. Rowland. Interment will be private.
