Rachel Bueno passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, June 5, 2022, with her loving family members present at her bedside. ??
Born in Poland, she fled Hitler with her mother and brothers in 1938 and grew up in Natal, Brazil. ??She moved to Israel in 1949, where she attended nursing school and served in the Israel Defense Forces as an operating room nurse. There Rachel would meet her husband, Dr. David Bueno, and raise a family. ??She moved to the United States in 1975 with her husband and children. ??She and David would later settle in Savannah in the early 2000's to be near her daughter and grandchildren.
Rachel is predeceased by her husband, David, and is survived by her children, Dr. Josepha Bueno DeVaro and Dr. Raphael Bueno, and four grandchildren, Dr. Sarah DeVaro, David DeVaro, and Gabrielle and Rebecca Bueno.
A graveside service will be held at Bonaventure Cemetery on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.
