Petty Officer First Class Robert 'Bob' Lewis Parker, Jr., United States Navy (Ret.), 56, of Rincon, Georgia and husband of Lelia Clark Parker, died Wednesday evening, September 18, 2019, at his home.
Born in Somers Point, New Jersey, he was a son of Joe Mendicino and Arleen Fazekes Mendicino. Bob was a member of The Chapel ' Effingham. Bob retired as a Petty Officer First Class after 22 years of service in the United States Navy. After his military career he was a crane mechanic. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, riding motorcycles, woodworking, and was a talented metal worker in his foundry.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Lucas Parker, and his infant daughter, Guinevere Parker.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Lelia Clark Parker; four sons, Robert Rinkus, John 'Jack' Hughes, Kenneth Parker and Nathan Parker; his parents, Joe and Arleen Fazekes Mendicino; one sister, Dawn Humphries and her husband, Earle, and one grandson, Dylan Parker Rinkus.
A memorial service, with full military honors, will be held at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon, October 5, 2019, at The Chapel ' Effingham - 131 Goshen Road Extension, Rincon.
