Perry Eugene Russell, 69, of Ellabell, Georgia and husband of Priscilla Louise May Russell, died Sunday afternoon, May 16, 2021, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Leroy Russell and the late Brunelle Cliffton Russell. Perry had fond memories of growing up in Fred Wessels with his brothers and made many lifelong friends there. A graduate of Savannah High School, Perry worked as an electrician at Kemira (Tronox) for 25 years and retired from there. He was an active part of the Savannah Music scene for over 50 years and most recently enjoyed playing with the Midtown Pickers at Coffee Deli in Savannah. After retirement, Perry became an ordained minister and married many local couples in love through his business, Keep it Simple Weddings.
Perry is best remembered for being kind, friendly, and caring towards others and for his love of his wife and family. He filled his life with music and enjoyed sharing it with others. With his personality bigger than life itself, he left a mark on everyone who met him.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 48 years, Priscilla Louise May Russell; children, Erica Russell Banaski, and Derek Ian Russell; granddaughters, Jordan, Taylor, Alex and Sarah; brothers, John, Tom, and Danny Russell.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service at 2 o'clock, Thursday, May 20, 2021, conducted by the Reverend Dr. Drew Corbett.
