Pearl McCool Sweeney, 93, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Algie Lee Sweeney, died Thursday evening, January 21, 2016, at Riverview Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Brownsville, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Alvis Wilson McCool and the late Mae Brummet McCool. Mrs. Sweeney was a member of South Cobb Church of Christ. She was a homemaker who also enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting.
Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne S. Strickland and her husband, Roy, of Marietta, Georgia, and Sheila S. Phillips and her husband, Bobby, of Savannah, Georgia; five grandchildren, Peter Baines, Allison Mol, Greg Strickland, Daniel Strickland and Boone Phillips; a number of great-grandchildren; one niece, Patrice Hammell and two nephews, Kenneth McCool and Alan Murphy.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the graveside, SunRise Memorial Gardens ' 3721 Bankhead Highway in Douglasville.
