SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Paula Sue Jackson passed away Thursday evening at St Joseph's Hospital after a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Surviving till age 51 with her disease is a testament to her faith, courage and tenacity. Her fighting spirit and strength was truly inspirational, and she amazed everyone that knew her. Her passing is a tragic loss to family and friends. She was preceded in death by parents Lewis "Tealy" Jackson and Patricia Shuman Jackson, also sister Terry Ann.
Paula leaves behind her longtime partner in life, James "Ricky" Brown. Brother Andrew(Sheila)Jackson, sisters Tracy(Michael)Rowell, Karen(Billy)Watson, nieces & nephews. She is also survived by the family of James & Jeanette Grier, her Aunt and Uncle with whom she spent a great deal of her childhood, many other loving Aunts, Uncles cousins and an abundance of friends.
The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Anthony Costrini for all his help and support during her struggle. His belief in her ability to fight her disease restored her strength at many critical times. Thanks also to her friend & therapist, Liz North who was always a phone call away when needed. Paula survived many trips to the ER and won countless battles against her disease due to the dedication of the Doctors, nurses & respiratory therapists at St Joseph's hospital.
Heartfelt gratitude for the women who stayed with Paula as her spirit passed" Into the arms of the Angel". Paula, may you find comfort and peace there.
Funeral services will be held at 6 o'clock Tuesday evening at White Bluff Presbyterian Church where she was a longtime congregate, Deacon and Circle One member. Services will be conducted by Pastor Eric Beene, reception in her memory to follow. Interment will be private.
