Patricia 'Pat' Ervin Hughes, 80, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of Arnold W. Hughes, died Thursday evening, December 5, 2013, at Marsh View Senior Living.



Born in Forsyth County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Ervin and the late Myrtle Augusta Sheets Ervin. Mrs. Hughes was a member of Bull Street Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and earned her Master's degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary. Mrs. Hughes retired after 30 years of service as the Weekday Ministry Director for the North America Mission Board at Savannah Baptist Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Iris Baker, Bernice Ervin and Hazel Martin.



Surviving are her husband of 15 years, Arnold W. Hughes of Savannah, Georgia; two sisters, Nina Fletcher and her husband, Harold, of Knoxville, Tennessee and Barbara Stewart and her husband, Shelton, of Greenwood, South Carolina; two brothers, Robert Lee Ervin, Jr. and his wife, Aggie, of St. Augustine, Florida, and Ralph Stephen Ervin and his wife, Aileen, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and a number of nieces and nephews.



The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o\'clock Wednesday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.



The funeral service will be held at 10 o\'clock Thursday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Earnie T. Pirkle, The Reverend William E. Gardner and The Reverend R. Calvin Fowler III.?? Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
