Patricia Joanne Goodday

Patricia Joanne Goodday, age 81, of Savannah, GA, passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2025. Born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 19, 1943 as the second of four children to the late Leonard John and Helen Elizabeth Spencer Henzke, Patricia lived a life dedicated to faith, family, and service.

A devout Catholic, Patricia was a member of Saint Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. Her unwavering faith provided strength and comfort throughout her life, particularly during her courageous four-and-a-half-year battle with multiple myeloma cancer. Known for her kindness and infectious spirit, Patricia touched the lives of many with her generosity and unwavering love.

Patricia's childhood was marked by family moves across the country. She attended high school and college in Salt Lake City, UT, before embarking on a fulfilling career in education in California. There, she raised her family with her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Charles Goodday.

After a successful career as a High School principal, Patricia and Bob retired to Scottsdale, AZ, where she continued to serve her community as a catechist at Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church. Following their daughter, Maria, and her family to Savannah, GA, Patricia embraced her new home with the same warmth and enthusiasm that defined her life.

Patricia found joy in the simple pleasures: reading her devotionals, cherishing time with her family and grandchildren, and engaging in friendly games of bridge. She lived her life with an optimistic spirit, always finding the bright side and inspiring those around her.

Patricia was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Robert Goodday.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria Rogers (Michael); grandchildren, Allison Rogers, Temmia Rogers, Helena Rogers; her foster daughters Denise Jones-Hines (Dan) and Lynnette Cool (Jim); her brother Leonard Henzke; and her sisters Mary Ellen Houghton and Kathleen Brandon.

A celebration of her life and funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, located at 11500 Middleground Road in Savannah, GA.
