Patricia Campbell Boatright–Mitchell, age 90, passed into the arms of Jesus in the early
morning hours of Tuesday, March 12, 2024. She was born on November 2, 1933, in Lynn
Haven/Panama City, Florida, to John and Pauline Campbell.
A 1951 graduate of Commercial High School and a 1975 graduate of Draughon’s Business
School. In high school, she worked for Kutchey Auto Supply and Avon Theater Corporation. She
was a homemaker while her children were in school and began driving a bus for Bible Baptist
School in the 1970s. From there, she became the bookkeeper for Paris Beauty School and for
The Jendyk Company.
She was a member of Bible Baptist Church for sixty years where she taught Sunday school and
worked in the Awana program for many of those years.
She married Chester Boatright one day after her 18th birthday. They were married 43 years,
until his passing in 1994. She met James Mitchell on a church trip to Branson, Missouri. They
were married for 17 years until his passing in 2014.
Besides her parents and husbands, she is predeceased by her three brothers: Homer Dewey
Campbell, Leon W. Campbell, and Jimmy (JC) Campbell, grandson: John Peacock, son-in-law:
Tommy Rhodes, and stepson: Jimmy Mitchell.
Survivors include daughters: Patricia Lynne Boatright and Cathye Rhodes, son: Chester H.
(Butch) Boatright (Susan), grandchildren: Travis Peacock (Danielle), Kenneth Peacock,
Miranda Peacock, Beth Boatright, Chad Boatright (Gabi), Drew Boatright (Hailey), great
grandchildren: Khloe Peacock, Piper Peacock, Alyvia Peacock, Austin Oglesby, Axel
Oglesby, beloved nieces: Karen Russell (Barry), Jeannie Crawford (Herman), Robin Crosby;
stepdaughter: Marcia Strickland (Bobby),stepson William Mitchell (Emma), step grandchildren:
Wesley Horton (Kristen), Amy Edenfield (Rey), Chris Mitchell, Coy Mitchell, and sisters-in-law:
Lenore Campbell and Brenda Campbell.
Visitation will be held at the Gamble Funeral Home on Stephenson Avenue on Monday, March
18, 2024, 12:00-1:00 with the Celebration of Life immediately following at 1:00PM.
