Pat Hill Burgess, 72, of West Columbia and our Sister in Christ, went to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon, September 13, 2013. After a long hard fought battle, cancer took her from us.?? Pat was an active member of Green Hill Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She was a caregiver to many, who loved her Lord,??her Church, and her family. Pat was a 1959 graduate of Brookland Cayce High School and retired from Hesco Electronics. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Tate Hill, and her brothers, William 'Billy' Hill and Larry 'Buck' Hill.



Pat leaves behind her mother, Susie Axson; her son, Philip Mark Burgess (Wendy) of Camden; her daughter, Angelia Ellis (Rand) of Pelion; her step-daughter, Alisha Stephens (Michael) of Dacula, Georgia; her sister, Janet McKenzie (Gordon) of Tucson, Arizona; her brother, Alan Axson (Kathie) of Lexington; her grandsons, Jared Burgess, Ben Ellis and Dillon Ellis; her granddaughters,??Caitlin and??Riley Stephens; her great-grandchildren, Blake and Eden Ellis; many beloved nieces and nephews, and a special life-long friend, Joanne Williams.



The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at Green Hill Baptist Church ' 1734 Augusta Road in West Columbia.



The funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at Green Hill Baptist Church conducted by Russell Laird. Interment will be in Olympia Cemetery.



The family extends a special thanks to Lexington Oncology, Dr. Madden and Staff, and the nurses at Lexington Medical Center 8th floor.
