Olga Vivian Brannen Usher, 100, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Collie Mann Usher, died Monday morning, January 4, 2021, at her home.
Born in Bulloch County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Edgar Cecil Brannen and the late Olga Irrena Mincey Brannen. After the death of her parents, she was raised by her aunt/step-mother, Edna Mincey Brannen. Mrs. Usher graduated from Portal High School and attended Georgia Teachers College. She was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church. Mrs. Usher was a former kindergarten teacher.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Phyllis Carolyn Russell Bennett; a sister, Dorothy Brannen Shearouse, and a brother, Edwin Cecil Brannen.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Woods Usher Oxenrider; her granddaughter, Vivian Colleen Russell Whittal; her great-grandchildren, Carolyn Brannen Bennett and David Alexander Kaplan, and her great-great-granddaughters, Brooklyn and Marley Crabb.
For the health and safety of family and friends and in accordance with CDC guidelines, the family requests that masks be worn and those attending practice social distancing.
The funeral service will take place at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, January 8, 2021, at the graveside, Hillcrest Abbey - East.
