Norma Elmgren Atwood

Norma Elmgren Atwood, 104, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Cpt. Lewis Herbert Atwood, US Navy (Ret.) died Monday, afternoon June 10, 2024 in Savannah.

Born in Thunderbolt, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Balder Theodore Elmgren and the late Norma Lucille Varn Elmgren. Mrs. Atwood was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension and a charter member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Doris M. Gladden, Laverne Woods and Judy Buda; her nephew, Balder T. Elmgren III; great-nieces and great-nephews including Catherine Smith, Leigh Martin and Dr. Eric Gladden, and a number of great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews

The graveside services will be held at 10 o’clock in the morning, Thursday, June 13, 2024. At Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery.
