Neta Faye Fortenberry Lawrence, 86, of Savannah, Georgia, and wife of Bobby Wayne 'Bob' Lawrence, died Wednesday morning, January 12, 2022, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, she was a daughter of the late Flemon Kenneth Fortenberry and the late Christine Ware Fortenberry. Neta was a longtime, faithful member of White Bluff United Methodist Church. She was an administrative assistant at Candler Hospital for ten years; however, her greatest love was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Neta enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, and a grandson-in-law, Glenn Cook.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Bobby Wayne 'Bob' Lawrence; two sons, Art W. Lawrence and Kendyll D. Lawrence and his wife, Linda; three grandchildren, Courtney Thurston and her husband, Chris, Jennifer 'Jenni' Cook, and Stephen 'Steve' Lessing; and six great-grandchildren, Clarissa Thurston, Clyde Lee Thurston, Clint Thurston, Claudia Thurston, Emily Cook and Riley Cook.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, January 15, 2022, at White Bluff United Methodist Church conducted by the Reverend Barry Giddens. Interment will be private.
