Nellie Howard Russell

Nellie Corine Howard Russell, 90, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of William Russell, died Friday evening, October 27, 2017, at PruittHealth - Savannah.



She was born in Macon, Georgia. Nellie is preceded in death by her husband, Pastor William Russell who passed away in 2009.



Nellie was a seamstress and homemaker. She was a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.



She is survived by her sisters Arlena Bryant and Shirley Ann Goodman. She is also survived by special nieces Margaret Robinson and Dorothy Russell; special nephews, Johnny Wilson and Frank Russell who she loved dearly; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.



The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday in the Word First Christian Church conducted by Pastor Dennis Akins. Interment will be in Hillcrest Abbey - West.
