Nancy Aleen Melton of Savannah, GA and widow of Willard Ray Melton died at the age of 84 on Saturday June 15, 2024 at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Miami, FL, she was the daughter of the late Marion Andrew Smith and the late Esla Hughes Smith.
Beginning as a teenager, over the course of her career she was employed at Walgreen's Downtown, Rupert Heller's Pharmacy, Wachtel's Pharmacy, Care One and Lo Cost Pharmacy.
She was a former member of Epworth United Methodist Church and a current member of White Bluff Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Corinne Stewart, Frances Floyd, Gloria Adams and Genevee Moore.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Melton Scott (Paul), her son Ronald Ray Melton, who inherited her love of working in the church nursery, her granddaughter and partner in the kitchen Darcy Marie Melton (Nathaniel Mellor), her sister Pamela Scroggs and several nieces and nephews.
Her family wishes to give heartfelt thanks to Felisha Famble, Carolyn Baker, the Staff of Lo Cost Pharmacy, Dr. Beth Cornell and Hospice Savannah.
Visitation will be held from 10 o’clock until 11 o’clock on Saturday morning, June 22, 2024 at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Ave., Savannah.
Funeral services will follow at 11 o’clock in the morning in the funeral home chapel Reverend Nathan Godley and Reverend Barry Giddons will be officiating.
A short graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice Savannah and White Bluff Methodist Church.
