Nancy Remion Harkleroad, 77, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of Marion Gray Harkleroad, Sr., died Tuesday morning, November 29, 2016, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Walter Anthony Remion and the late Julia Cory Remion. Mrs. Harkleroad was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. She graduated from St. Vincent's Academy and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Harkleroad retired as the school nurse at Jacob G. Smith Elementary School. She was instrumental in starting The Wild Ones Bowling League for disabled adults.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Remion.Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Marion Gray Harkleroad, Sr.; two daughters, Lisa H. Boswell and her husband, Mark, and Theresa Harkleroad; one son, Marion Gray Harkleroad, Jr.; four grandchildren, Mark Boswell, Caleb Harkleroad, Tristan Harkleroad and Gray Harkleroad; one sister, Pat Kerley and her husband, Bill; two brothers, Michael Remion and his wife, Patty and Chris Remion and his wife, Kay, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:30 Thursday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue with the Rosary service being held at 6:30 in the chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 o'clock Friday morning at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church conducted by The Reverend Patrick S. O'Brien. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
