MSgt Gordon Franklin Locke, U.S. Army (Ret.), 86, of Savannah, Georgia and widower of Joelle Corre Locke, died Tuesday afternoon, June 12, 2018, at Savannah Square.
Born in St. Petersburg, Florida on September 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Fred Locke and the late Jessie Waterhouse Locke. Mr. Locke retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Army in 1982 at Ft. Riley, Kansas. He began working at the Army Learning Center first at Ft. Riley, and then at Ft. Stewart, and retired from Hunter Army Airfield in 2007. Mr. Locke was the current president of the residents association at Savannah Square.
Surviving are his children, Perry J. Locke, Thomas G. Locke (Bonnie), and Armelle Kelly (Bob); seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 Monday morning, June 18, 2018, at Savannah Square Retirement Community, Riceland Hall at 1 Savannah Square.
The funeral service, with full military honors, will be held at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, June 19, 2018, at the graveside, Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida.
