Montine Stewart Taylor, 76, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Benny R. Taylor, died Wednesday morning, February 7, 2018, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Alma, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Julian Harthridge Stewart and the late Eula Mae Butler Stewart. Mrs. Taylor was a longtime member of Central Christian Church where she was active in the Ladies Group and Missions. She retired from Merchants Credit Bureau after more than 20 years. Her hobbies were her Church and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 44 years and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maudine McIntyre, and a brother, Harold Stewart.
Surviving are two sons, Richard 'Ricky' Taylor and his wife, Desiree, and B. Randall 'Randy' Taylor, all of Savannah; five grandchildren, Justin Taylor and his wife, Christa, Christopher Taylor, Wesley Taylor, Caitlyn Taylor and Candace Taylor; one brother, John P. Stewart and his wife, Virue, of Dixie Union, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Velma Stewart of Alma, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Thursday evening at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Lionel Marmolejo. Interment will be at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon in Stewart Cemetery near Alma, Georgia.
