Minnie Conway Wallace, 98, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Joseph Anthony Wallace, died Thursday morning, June 16, 2016, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of George Oliver Conway, Sr. and the late Minnie Anderson Conway. Mrs. Wallace was a lifelong member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. After 45 years, she retired as the Director of Industrial Operations for the Supply and Services Division at Fort Stewart.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Spell Howell; two sisters, Marian Conway Carter and Lorene Carter; three brothers, George Oliver Conway, Jr., Thomas Conway and Alton Conway.
Surviving are her granddaughter, Susan Meredith Taylor and her husband, Stephen, of Richmond, Virginia; her grandson, Stephen Michael Howell and his wife, Anne, of Atlanta, Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Stephen Shepard Taylor, Mary Wallace Howell and Shiloh Patricia Taylor, and nieces and nephews including Lourdine Bell and her husband, The Reverend Dr. G. Grover Bell.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Friday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church conducted by The Reverend R. Kevin Kelly. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
