Mildred Beavers Mckenzie

Mildred NeSmith Beavers McKenzie, 97, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Donald 'Don' Hughes McKenzie, died Friday afternoon, June 5, 2020, at Savannah Square.



Born in Bulloch County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Ellie Madison NeSmith and the late Cora Denmark NeSmith. Mrs. McKenzie was a charter member of Central Church of Christ. She and her husband formerly owned and operated two dry cleaning plants. For many years Mrs. McKenzie was a volunteer at St. Joseph's Auxiliary and she was an avid Bridge and Bingo player.



Surviving are two daughters, Linda Quarles Riggs of Hinesville; Debbie Beavers Hudgins (Alvin) of Savannah; one son, Fred C. Quarles (Dianne) of Savannah; four grandchildren, F. Keith Quarles, Caroline Quarles Hayes (Holden), Mark Patrick Riggs (Nicole) and William Dennis Hudgins (Cindy), and seven great-grandchildren.



The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, June 9, 2020, at the graveside, Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, conducted by Elder Mitchell C. Holman.
