Michael Brendan “ Hoss” Sullivan, 61, of Savannah died Sunday morning, September 17, 2023, at the
home of his sister, Sheila Harrod of Darien, Ga.
Mike graduated from Beach High School in 1980. Mike proudly served his country in the United States
Navy for 10 years, 6 of those at sea as a Senior Boiler Tech, with 3 on the USS Missouri during the first
Gulf War. He received numerous commendations during his tour at sea.
After his Navy career, Mike spent the next 30 years driving as a long haul trucker for various companies
all over the country. Mike had a love of sports, but especially the big three, the Braves, the Falcons and
the Georgia Bulldogs. He was an avid NASCAR fan and followed racing all his life. The pinnacle was
attending the Daytona 500 with his three brothers.
Mike is survived by his mother, Kathleen M. Sullivan of Savannah, Georgia, His beloved sisters, Sheila
Harrod, Trisha Sullivan and Mary Hudson, Brothers, John Sullivan (Mary Ellen), Kevin Sullivan (Diane) and
Tim Sullivan (Nancy), his beloved nieces and nephews, Sean, Anna, Garrett, Patrick, Jack, Kate and
Caitlyn. Mike is predeceased by his father, Francis P. Sullivan and his brother, Brian F. Sullivan.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Golden Isles , especially Kristy Lewis, and family friend,
Sheila Jackson, for their amazing care and help during Mike’s illness.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o’clock Wednesday evening, with a memorial service being
held at 7 o’clock at Gamble Funeral Home.
Internment will be held at a later date.
