Michael "Mike" Jay Whitley, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on June 12, 2024, in Savannah, GA. He was born on April 14, 1971, in Augusta, GA, and was the son of Charles "Mickey" and Rhonda Whitley. Mike was known for his kind and generous nature, always putting the needs of others before his own.
Professionally, Mike owned a successful Pressure Washing business, where he established a reputation for his exceptional work ethic and commitment to excellence. He took great pride in his work and ensured that every project was completed to the highest standard.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed watching anything related to Godzilla; he had an absolute passion for the iconic monster. Additionally, he loved spending time outdoors, particularly when he went fishing. Finding solace in nature and the thrill of the catch, Mike cherished these moments of peace and tranquility.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie Simons-Whitley, whom he shared countless beautiful memories with. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Their son, Michael S. Whitley, brought immense joy into their lives, and Mike was incredibly proud of the person his son had become. He is also survived by his parents Mickey and Rhonda, with whom he shared an incredible bond.
In the community, Mike was an active member of BNI and his church, Restoration Worship Center in Richmond Hill. His involvement in these organizations showcased his dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others. He was also an active member of the GA Reptile Society. He loved his animals dearly and worked hard to help educate people on reptiles of all kinds but especially his snakes.
Mike's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered for his genuine kindness, unwavering loyalty, and his fierce protection of his loved ones. His legacy will continue to live on through the memories shared by family, friends, and those whose lives he touched.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held in his honor, allowing family and friends to come together to remember the incredible person he was and the indelible mark he left on this world.The date for this is to be determined.
