Michael 'Mike' Bowers, age 78, of Savannah, died Thursday, May 6, 2021, at his home after a year-long battle with cancer.
A native of Toccoa, Georgia , Mike was a graduate of Georgia State and Armstrong State College. He was a retired IT Project Manager with the State of Georgia.
Mike was a man of many interests including: philosophy, history, photography, and travel. Additionally, Mike was a connoisseur of fine bourbon.
He is survived by his wife, Paula; sons, Michael and Brian; children by marriage, Dana (Fred) Dowdell, Jason (Lisa) Weil; four grandchildren, Amy (Tray) Waters, Brent Williamson, Logan Weil and Colby Weil, 3 great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
At Mike's request, there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
