Mateen Sabree Sawyer, Sr., 39, of Hinesville, Georgia, transitioned Wednesday evening, June 22, 2022, at Liberty Regional Medical Center.
Mateen was born in Savannah, Ga, he was a son of Florine L. Sawyer and Michael Mitchell. He was goofy with an undistinguished smile. His eyes communicated his feelings without a spoken word. Love is an understatement on how you will feel about him if you were ever graced with his presence. His favorite hobbies were trying delicious dishes and keeping up with the latest football news.
Mateen was predeceased by Montranay Sawyer, Evlina Sawyer, Floyd Sawyer Sr., Helen Bellinger, Vincent Collier, Wilma Mitchell, and Nash Mitchell.
Survivors include his mother and father, Florine Sawyer, and Michael Mitchell; fianc?? Jentri Williams; children Serenity Burns-Sawyer, Mateen Sawyer Jr; siblings Diane Sawyer, Michael Sawyer, Hansome Ferguson, Charisma Ferguson, Trinice Lawrence, Washeakia Lawrence, Latoya Lawrence and a host of cousins and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock, Saturday, July 2, 2022, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue. Interment will take place in New Guinea Cemetery ' at the intersection of Sallie Mood Drive and Montgomery Cross Road near Lake Mayer.
