Mary Amelia McCarthy Wilson, 95, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Richard Wilson, died Sunday evening, October 21, 2018, at her home.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Joseph McCarthy and the late Mabel Kontner McCarthy. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Wilson, on October 10, 1943. A loving wife and devoted mother to her three children, Mary and Richard were very active in church during their married life. In her retirement, she enjoyed playing golf with Richard.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Stuart, who was a victim of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Burdge; son, Mark Daniel, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Isle of Hope conducted by Reverend Melanie Lemburg.
