Judy Wasden passed away on Saturday, August 15, in Savannah, Georgia, 23 years after first being diagnosed with cancer. Beloved by all who knew her, she was a native of Savannah, Georgia, a graduate of St. Vincent\'s Academy, a member of St. John\'s Church in Savannah, a loving wife, the perfect mother, and a generous friend to many.
She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John James Stafford, of Savannah, Georgia.
Those she left to carry her spirit and energy include her husband of forty years, Wiley Anderson Wasden, Jr; daughters, Elizabeth Wasden, and Carr Wasden Doerre and her husband, Matt; stepson, Wiley Anderson Wasden III and his wife, Anna; three grandsons, Anderson, Chris, and Hunt Wasden; and her three sisters Beth Carter, Jackie Munch, Kearney Fender, and their families.
Her family wishes to express their gratitude for all who cared for Judy through the years particularly those at The Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer Center, St. Joseph\'s/Candler, and Hospice Savannah. Her daughters would like it noted for the record: she was a good sport!
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. John's Church conducted by The Reverend Gavin G. Dunbar and The Reverend Craig E. O'Brien. Interment will be at half past 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in Millen City Cemetery in Millen, Georgia.
The family will receive friends in the Green-Meldrim House following the service at St. John's Church.
