Mary Kelley Maloney, 77, of Savannah, Georgia, and widow of Robert John 'Bob' Maloney, died Tuesday afternoon, September 16, 2014, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Francis William Kelley and the late Lucille Courtney Kelley. Mrs. Maloney was a communicant at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She graduated from Marquette University, and was the first Dental Hygienist in Savannah. For the last 20 years, Mary has volunteered at Social Apostolate and also delivered meals for Wilson Ministries to the Homeless Shelters.?? Mary was also a Master Gardener, served for several years on the Board of Park Place Outreach and volunteered at Georgia Regional Hospital doing gardening therapy.?? She will be remembered by her friends and family for her unique laugh and joy of life.
Surviving are one daughter, Kelley Maloney and her husband, Jim; two sons, Michael Maloney and his wife, Frances, and John Maloney and his wife, Marypat; five grandchildren, Winifred Rose Maloney, Robert John Maloney, Declan Walter Maloney, Aidan Joseph Maloney and Lukas Chaves Maloney; one sister, Margaret Kelley Murphy; two brothers, Francis Joseph Kelley and Michael Courtney Kelley; her companion of 15 years, Art Finnerty, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Friday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue, with the Christian Wake Service being held at 7 o'clock in the funeral home chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 o\'clock Saturday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church conducted by The Reverend John J. Lyons. Interment will be in Madison, Connecticut.
