Mary Gibson Kennedy, 81, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of Paul Russell Kennedy, Jr., died Tuesday afternoon, January 12, 2016, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Richwood, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Jarrald Paul Gibson and the late Ina Rachel Hill Gibson. Mary was an active and dedicated member of White Bluff United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Harmony Sunday School Class, and the Sarah Circle. She loved to volunteer and was active with the United Service Organizations (USO); she was a former Girl Scout leader, and a dedicated Curves member. Mary loved her Church, her family, her friends, and helping others through her volunteer efforts.
Surviving are her husband of almost 58 years, Paul Russell Kennedy, Jr. of Savannah, Georgia; two daughters, Debbie K. Clark and her husband, Butch, of Charleston, South Carolina and Brenda K. Bazemore and her husband, David, of Riverview, Florida; four grandchildren, David D. Bazemore IV and his wife, Katie, Erin Marie Bazemore, Drew W. Clark and Chadd A. Clark; two great-grandchildren, Sarah Beth Kennedy Bazemore and David D. Bazemore V; two sisters, Barbara G. McLaughlin of Longwood, Florida and Margaret G. Martin of Savannah, Georgia, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Thursday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning at White Bluff United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
