Mary Elizabeth Dowd Ghrist, 64, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of David Lee Ghrist, died Saturday evening, April 4, 2020, at PruittHealth ' Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late James LaFayette Dowd, Sr. and the late Mildred Mary Smith Dowd. Mary was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker who cared deeply for her family.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James LaFayette Dowd, Jr.
Survivors include her sister, Ruby E. Bell; two nieces; two nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
With concern for the safety and health of our family and friends, the memorial service for Mary will be held at a later date.
