Mary Jeanette Smith Galletta, 93, of Savannah, Georgia, and widow of Paul Vincent Galletta, Sr., died Friday morning, January 12, 2018, at Memorial University Medical Center.



Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Julian Franklin Smith and the late Bertha Euenia Gould Smith. Mrs. Galletta was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed being a homemaker, spending time with her family and traveling. Mrs. Galletta will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother, a caregiver to many, and for always being grateful for anything being done for her.?? She enjoyed cooking for her family, doing crafts and sewing.



In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Patrick Bolton; two sisters, Elizabeth Martin and Helen Waite, and one brother, J. Frank Smith.



Surviving are one daughter, Patricia 'Pat' Bolton (Mike), of Savannah; two sons, Paul V. Galletta, Jr. of Savannah and Edward 'Eddie' Galletta (Ann), of Guyton; four grandchildren, Jennifer Bolton Cowart (Ashley 'A.J.'), Paula Galletta Harden (Matt), Marianne Galletta Ferrell (Andrew), and Patrick Galletta; ten great-grandchildren, Chris Bolton, Angel Bolton, Cullen Cowart, Lance Duggar, Maria Dotson, Logan Duggar, Dayton Dotson, Justin Cowart, Mallory Cowart and Vincent Harden, and a number of nieces and nephews.



The family will receive friends from 10 until 12 o'clock Tuesday morning at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.



The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Tuesday in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Drew Corbett. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Marsh View Senior Living Memory Care Unit, Candler 6 North, and Memorial University Medical Center for the tender care given to Mrs. Galletta.
