Mary Frances 'Frankie' Whalen Fleming, 64, of Savannah, died Wednesday morning, October 10, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late William Francis Whalen and Mary Jo vonWaldner Whalen. Mrs. Fleming was a 1966 graduate of St. Vincent's Academy and later graduated from Armstrong State University where she received a master's degree in education.?? She was a teacher for thirty two years for the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System before retiring.
Surviving are her son, William Hunter Fleming and his wife, Jennifer; two brothers, Jack Whalen and Charles Whalen and his wife, Staci; her grandson, William H. Fleming, Jr.; and a nephew, Patrick Whalen, all of Savannah.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
A private service will take place at Bonaventure Cemetery.
