RICHMOND HILL, GEORGIA - Marvin Lawrence Fentress, 86, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and formerly of Virginia Beach, Virginia, widower of Edith Mae Mansfield Fentress, died Monday evening, January 25, 2010, in Savannah.
A lifetime resident of the Tidewater area, he was a son of the late Rupert Allen Fentress and the late Onie Mae Dunaway Fentress. Mr. Fentress was a United States Armed Guard veteran having served during World War II and was a retired fireman for the Norfolk, Virginia Naval Air Station. He was a member of the Democratic Club in Ocean View, and the Lynnhaven Masonic Lodge # 220 AF & AM in Virginia Beach.
Surviving are one son, Marvin Allen Fentress and his wife, Suzie, of Savannah, Georgia; two grandchildren, Margaret Fentress and Elizabeth Fentress, and his cousins including the Russell family in Moultrie, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at the graveside, Rose Wood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
