Marlyn Dale Livingood, 85, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Phyllis Berry Livingood, died Friday afternoon, December 14, 2018, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, he was a son of the late Charles B. 'C.B.' Livingood and the late Esther Lee Livingood. Dale was a longtime active member of Bible Baptist Church. He was a United States Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War. Dale founded Livingood's Appliance in 1976 where he worked side by side with his wife until his recent retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, traveling and the outdoors. Dale will be remembered as a man with a servant's heart who had unquestionable character and an unbelievable work ethic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Phyllis Berry Livingood; four sons, Mark Livingood and his wife, Elena, of Plantation, Florida, Kirk Livingood and his wife, Marian, of Cartersville, Georgia, and Todd Livingood and his wife, Caroline, and Scott Livingood and his wife, Renee, all of Savannah; ten grandchildren, Mark Michael Livingood and his wife, Erika, Melissa Duttenhoffer and her husband, Don, Krista Duncan and her husband, Nick, Tyler Livingood and his wife, Krystal, Garrett Livingood, Sara Livingood, Anna Livingood, Mallory Livingood, Connor Livingood and Kylee Livingood; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlene Johnson and Marlys Brahmer; two brothers, Lester Livingood and Harlan Livingood and his wife, Pat, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Monday evening, December 17, 2018, at Bible Baptist Church ' 4700 Skidaway Road, Savannah.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, December 18, 2018, at Bible Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Kelly McInerney and the Reverend Dr. Herbert F. Hubbard. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
