Marlene Elizabeth Cook Ford, 79, of Savannah, died Friday morning, March 22, 2013, at Hospice Savannah.
She was the daughter of the late Robert Beuford Cook and the late Ruth Elizabeth Sharpe Cook.?? Born in Savannah, Georgia, on August 7, 1933, she graduated from Savannah High School in 1952.?? In 1995, she retired after 31 years with the Georgia Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.?? She was a member of the Living Church of God.?? Marlene was a loving daughter, mother, and friend, always happy to help others, and an \"adopted mother\" to many.
Survivors include her daughter, Bethany L. Ford of Savannah;?? her aunt, Helen Knight of St. Simon\'s Island;?? and many cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.??
The funeral service will be held at 11 o\'clock Wednesday morning at Gamble Funeral Service.?? Interment will be in Hillcrest Abbey East.
