Mark Thomas Mathews, 55, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Jackie Sellers Mathews, died Friday afternoon, October 31, 2014, at his home.
Born on October 29, 1959 in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Lewis Alison Mathews, Jr and the late Uldean Thompson Mathews. Mark attended Memorial Day School. He was a volunteer firefighter and first responder with Southside Fire Department and a lineman with Pike Electric. Mark was an avid fan of Georgia Bulldog Football and NASCAR.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie Sellers Mathews; his mother-in-law, Stella Sellers; his sisters including his twin, Janet Myrick and her husband, Bob and??Diane Barefield and her husband, Marlon; sister-in-law, Renee Sellers; nieces, Emily Sellers and Callie Harrison, and his nephew, Christopher Barefield.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 o'clock Monday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 6 o'clock, Monday evening in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Mark Minter. Interment will be private.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Southside Fire Department.
Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
