Marjorie Gordon

Marjorie Cooper Gordon passed away on May 23, 2024 at her home in Savannah, GA at the age of 90. Born in Memphis, TN on April 29, 1934, Margie grew up in Savannah, GA, graduated from Savannah High School where she excelled academically. She attended Vanderbilt University and joined Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority. After starting her family, she began her Savannah residential real estate career and moved on to commercial real estate where she completed a rigorous designation in taxation and law to become a CCIM and blazed the Savannah real estate trail for women of all ages. Her contributions to David Byck Realty and Seabolt Real Estate were unprecedented.

She was a beacon of elegance, charm and grace. A true fashionista, Margie’s sense of style was unparalleled, always beautifully dressed from head to toe. Those who knew her well including friends and family she kept up with over the decades loved Margie for her loyalty and kindness mixed with a strong dose of honesty and sharp wit and will always be known as “one of a kind” and an “absolute legend.”

Honey’s memory will be cherished by her loving children, Jeffrey Gordon, Susan (Danny) Klugman, Dale (Richard) DeSena and Marc (Kelly) Gordon; her grandchildren, Alli (Jaron) Solomon, Matt Klugman, Mindy Gordon, Hadley Gordon and Roman DeSena; her great grandchildren IJ and Sadie Solomon; her brother Jerome (Jean) Cooper; along with many others including her beloved niece, nephews, cousins and friends.

Margie was predeceased by Ronald Gordon and her parents, Samuel and Bessie Cooper and brother, Milton.

At the end, Margie was blessed with the best team of caregivers including Michelle, Matina, Tonikqua, Yolanda, Tracy, Usuala, Georgia Hospice Care and many others, to whom the family is forever in debt for the love and support they showed Margie and her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in her memory.

Graveside funeral service will be conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus at 1:00pm on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Bonaventure Cemetery.

The family will be sitting Shiva at 107b Hope Lane, Savannah, 31406, Sunday 7:00 - 8:30, Monday thru Thursday, 1:30 - 4:00 & 7;00 - 8:30, and Friday, 1:00 - 3:00.
