Marie 'Sissy' Ferreira, 74, of Rincon, Georgia and widow of SCPO George Santos Ferreira, U.S. Navy (Ret.), died Thursday afternoon, April 18, 2013 at The Place at Pooler.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida, she was the daughter of Irene Lucille Ryals Alexander and the late George Witte Alexander. She was a United States Navy veteran and a homemaker.
Surviving are her daughter, Nikki F. Palefsky and her husband, Matthew, of Rincon; three sons, Mike Ferreira and his wife, Trisha, of Savannah, Tony Ferreira and his wife, Robin, of Guyton, and Richard Ferreira and his wife, Katherine, of Pooler; her mother, Irene R. Alexander of Rincon, and eight grandchildren, Patrick, Taylor, Joey, Dimitri, Matthew, Andrew, Abigail and Nicolas.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Robert H. Dimmitt. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
