Marie Morace Dodson

Mrs. Marie Dodson, age 78, a native of Savannah, Georgia, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, after a sudden illness. She was a graduate of Jenkins High School. Mrs. Dodson attended the University of Georgia and received her Bachelor of Science degree in English Education from Armstrong College. In addition, she earned Master's degrees in English Education and School Administration while teaching for the Baltimore City School System where she was head of the English Department at her school. Mrs. Dodson also taught for the Chatham County School System.



Mrs. Dodson was an active member of Mickve Israel Synagogue where she served on the Board of Adjunta, was president of the Sisterhood, and was a member of several committees. Mrs. Dodson enjoyed reading. She derived great pleasure from helping people and was very charitable. Mrs. Dodson was devoted to her extended family.



She was preceded in death by her husband David Dodson and her parents Eula Drought and Michael Morace.



She is survived by numerous cousins and special friends.



A graveside service for Mrs. Dodson will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 4:30 p.m., at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah with Rabbi Robert Haas officiating.
