A loving mother, spouse, sibling, grandmother, and dear friend to many, she was known most for her dedication and joy of family. Her fun-loving spirit, sense of humor and quick wit were known and enjoyed by all who knew her. A native of Savannah whose parents immigrated as young children from Belarus to Savannah in the late 1800s, there was no escaping the charm of this Southern Belle. Marianne was very much the bon vivant who's joy for life was truly contagious. Her days were filled and vibrantly active with taking long walks on the beach, or playing tennis, or playing bridge and mah-jongg with friends, or enjoying performing arts and Broadway shows and culinary highlights on her frequent visits to New York City. She instilled in us all the appreciation for achieving scholastically and professionally in life, the value of faith & family, and above all else to never underestimate the rewards of laughter.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family is grateful for donations in Marianne's memory to one of the following charities: The Literary Guild of Saint Simons, PO Box 20822, Saint Simons Island, GA 31522 or Hospice of the Golden Isles. 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525 or The Lymphoma Research Foundation, Wall Street Plaza, 88 Pine St., Suite 2400, New York, NY 10005.
