MOUNT PLEASANT, SOUTH CAROLINA - Margaret Lena Horowitz Shedrow, 91, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and wife of Dr. Sidney Shedrow, died Sunday morning, July 8, 2012, at Hospice of Charleston.
Born on February 27, 1921, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Rebecca Goldman Horowitz. She moved to Miami, Florida when she was nine where she grew up with her younger brother Robert (deceased) and completed high school and business school.   She met and married her husband, Dr. Sidney Shedrow, when he was stationed with the Army Air Corps in Miami during World War II. Following the war, Margie and Sidney moved first to Cordele, Georgia and then to Savannah, Georgia where they raised four children.   Margie was a member of the Agudath Achim Synagogue, active in Hadassah and enjoyed playing bridge with her husband and friends.   She was a loving and devoted mother and wife and in her latter years particularly relished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Margie and Sidney moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 2000.
Surviving are her husband, Sidney; children, Barry Shedrow (Deb), Robyne Shedrow Steinert (Charles), Michael Shedrow (Jill) and Jackie Shedrow; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Monday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Kenneth R. Leitner.
