SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Margaret Wood Sharpe, 74, of Savannah, Georgia, wife of Donald Franklin Sharpe, died Thursday morning, September 16, 2010, at her home under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Born in Mount Vernon, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Thomas DeWitt Wood and the late Mary Florence Hughes Wood. Mrs. Sharpe was a member of Islands Christian Church and was a retired bookkeeper with Union Camp Credit Union after twenty one years of service.
Surviving are her husband of fifty three years, Donald Franklin Sharpe of Savannah, Georgia; two daughters, Donna Jean Sharpe and Cindi S. Butts, both of Savannah, Georgia; one son, Randy D. Sharpe and his wife, Barbara, of Savannah, Georgia; one sister, Helen Lynn of Vidalia, Georgia; two grandchildren, Emily Ann Butts and Joseph Butts and his wife, Britni; one great-granddaughter, Harper Butts, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Bobby Hanson. Interment will be in Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
