SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Margaret Guyton Gartelmann, 88, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of William Henry Gartelmann, died Tuesday morning, August 10, 2010, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Pinopolis, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late James Cuthbert Hare and the late Joanna Eunice Bolen Hare. She was raised by her paternal Aunt and Uncle, The Reverend Arther and Margaret Hare Guyton. Mrs. Gartelmann was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Ascension and was a homemaker and was an avid bridge player.
In addition to her parents and her adopted parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Louise Gartelmann Young and one son, William H. Gartelmann, Jr. and three siblings.
Surviving are one daughter, Margaret G. Waters of Savannah, Georgia; one granddaughter, Elizabeth M. Young of New York; one grandson, William B. Young of Atlanta, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Lutheran Church of the Ascension conducted by The Reverend Dr. William H. Roen with a reception to follow in Crumley Hall. Interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
