Mamie Lou Bazemore Smith, 100, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Ray Hart Smith, died Sunday afternoon, February 17, 2013, at Oceanside Nursing Home on Tybee Island.
Born in Screven County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Richard Jordan Bazemore and the late Catherine Beard Bazemore. Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie Exey Mock and Irma Bazemore, and two brothers, Audley Bazemore and Sidney Bazemore.
Surviving are her daughter, Sharon S. Shaver of Tybee Island, Georgia; four grandchildren, Carrie Danbom and her husband, Michael, Katherine Shaver, Martha Shaver Clemons and her husband, Grant, and Edwards Shaver, and four great-grandchildren, Peyton, Emily Grace, Jenna and Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o\'clock Friday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o\'clock Saturday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Samuel W. Watkins.?? Interment will be in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park - East.
